Privacy policy

Rateam8 is run by SundayTech Private Limited, Chandramukhi Building, Nariman Point, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400021, India ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Rateam8 app and rateam8 web pages, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, used to send one-time login codes and to identify your account. We never ask for a password.
- What you post: ratings (1-10), optional review text, profiles you add (name, category, city, country, optional links), optional private phone contact hints for sealed invites, WhatsApp notice requests, reports and block lists.
- Purchases: if you buy Spotlight or Boost, the App Store or Google Play tells us the product and transaction ID. We never see your card details.
- App usage: basic, pseudonymous product events (for example "app opened", "rating submitted"), device platform and app version, used to fix bugs and improve the app. No advertising identifiers and no cross-app tracking.
- Server logs: IP address and request details kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.
A rater-supplied number is only a private hint and does not let us message that person. If you give us your own WhatsApp number and ask for future rating notices, we store the request; notices stay off until number control is checked and the messaging service is enabled. You can opt out in the app or ask support. An enabled service would share your number and notice delivery data with Meta / WhatsApp.
What other people see
Ratings are anonymous by default. When you explicitly choose to show your name on a rating, your own profile name appears with that rating and on the profile as a rater. A verified badge appears only when your profile has a verified claim. Your email is never shown. Earlier anonymous ratings are not named later. Scores for a profile appear only after at least 3 people have rated it. Accepted profiles you add, and their names, are public. Sealed person invites remain private until accepted; scores and names do not appear on the sealed invite page; stored phone numbers are not shown.
How we use it
To run the service, sign you in, calculate scores, prevent abuse and brigading, handle reports and moderation, process purchases and answer support requests. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who processes it for us
Hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase), email delivery for login codes (Brevo), and Apple / Google for in-app purchases. They process data only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Sealed invite contact hints are erased on acceptance, decline or expiry, and if the rater deletes their account. Other personal data is kept until you delete your account. When you delete it we remove your email, sign-in sessions and ratings, and unlist profiles you own. Limited records may be kept where the law requires (for example purchase records or moderation decisions about unlawful content).
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account in the app (You → Delete account) or at /delete-account.
- Remove or report a profile about you from its page ("Remove or report") - always free.
- Ask for a copy or correction of your data, or raise a privacy concern: sundaytechventures@gmail.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Rateam8 is for people 18 and over. Profiles of minors are not allowed and are removed when found.

We will update this page and the date above when this policy changes.
